Colored Rose

Evelyn purple skirt, Tucker tank, BcBG Heels (also seen here)

The Birthday party went with out a hitch, and I had some of the best company I could ask for. Before I headed out to the party, I had my best friend snap a few candid photos of what I decided to wear that day. I decided on this bright purple pleated maxi skirt with a tucker tank tucked in that displayed similar colors to the skirt. I ended up wearing the pink heels to top off the night in color. My friend made reservations for a group of six at the Stinkin Rose in Beverly Hills. We ate garlic foods to our hearts content and drank wonderful fruity cocktails till the night came to a close.

Floral Lace.

Zac Posen bag, Forever21 dress, Cotton Candy Floral Blouse, Rosebud cut-out heels, and a vintage belt
I have always hated items around my neck. Even as a child, I could not stand items squeezing my neck. My friends and I have always joked that I was strangled in a past life. Who knows! right?
Although the comfort of this soft lace dress’s collar doesn’t seem to bother me. It doesn’t seem to squeeze my neck in anyway where I would unzip the back enough to make a little room. I tried pairing the dress with this floral chiffon blouse to give it more of a tea party feel. I also noticed that my new Zac Posen handbag fits well with the color scheme! Point for me!

Top that.

Maddy…K skirt, Vintage Tank, BCBG Clutch, Afgan lapis necklace, nine west booties

Something about this skirt screams rocker but in a subtle way. It’s a sheer body, but with a tighter black skirt panel underneath. I love the slits on each side, it gives an appeal with out making it over sexy. The cropped vintage tee I have had for years fits really well with the skirt, it makes the outfit more relaxed. This lapis necklace I have had since I was living in new mexico and got it for under 30 dollars. I recently found out that Lapis is very expensive here, since the rarity of the stone and transporting it here.

Shirting Pineapples

Shirting Cardigan from Anthropologie , Joie tank, vintage necklaces, fighting Eel pineappe skirt, Glaze heels

I think most of LA would like me to stop complaining about the weather, or most of the U.S. Yes I know, LA has the most near perfect weather, I get it. Although I am craving the weather in San Fransico right now. This year’s summer up north has been a cold one. It’s just not fair, Vogue’s 916 page magazine can wear all fall items and I can’t.. not yet I guess. I have been starting to buy some sweaters, and plan on wearing them as soon as the nights here cool off. Here is one of my most recent purchases.

25 years….

Phew. Even the title was hard to right. Today marks a major day in my life, and I am sad to say, I am not thrilled about it. For some reason the past month has been one of the worst. Majorly because I turn 25 today. I don’t know why this milestone has been the worst, but it’s even hard for me to digest this number. I have been over analyzing everything and putting some of the hardest expectations on myself. I am a perfectionist so this expectation thing I am used too, but not these type of expectations. Most of all my friends are either financially stable, with a partner, married, has kids, or all of the above. I needless to say, have neither. I have a dream and a few side things to keep me going. I never expected by the age of 25 to be living in LA, none the less out of Massachusetts (where I am originally from). From the age of 18, I had moved out, and went to live in New Mexico, spent a little time when I was 22 in Boston, and when I was 23 went to spend time in New York. Now, here in LA I am this 25 single white female, associates degree, actress, and a ambitious blogger…. didn’t think this was going to be 25.
I feel, at 25, I am rich on experience-having lived in so many places and being able to travel the world, that I felt school wouldn’t give me. But I am not sure if I am just being hard on myself or expecting what others have. I certainly didn’t choose their path and I feel if given a second chance, still wouldn’t regret my choices.
I am really not sure what I am going to do to celebrate, but I do know that I am going to keep in mind my dreams and keep a positive attitude to another 25.

Get Your Pants On

Anthropologie Pilcro Patterned pants , freesia silk tank, nine west brown heels, vintage necklace and bracelet

I don’t think I have ever owned a pair of pants quite like these. Not only are they extremely loud, but they are extremely comfortable. Pilcro makes super soft cords that don’t sound like a beaver when you walk, and they are a light weight pant that doesn’t weigh you down. I thought these pants were embroidered when I first noticed them on the rack, and to my surprise they weren’t. The design gives just enough pop, to make heads turn in all sorts of directions.

Bare Midriff

Vintage top, Forever21 Skirt, Rosebud heels, Western vintage bag, and hand-made necklace
Can I just say how damn comfortable this outfit is… ohh my. I felt like I was on top of the world. Nothing about this outfit was itchy, sitting weird, or sticky. I am not one to bare my midriff, because I just feel to naked in doing so. Although this shirt sits just right, with out making me feel like I am baring it all. Topping the outfit off with some Rosebud heels made the outfit a little bit more going out to keep it from casual.

Honestly?

I love making jewlery, even more than sitting at the beach for the day…. For me its a sense of accomplishment of my patience soaring high. I made this braclet a few months back from following a DIY from one of my favorite blogs Honestly..Wtf. It’s a simple chain bracelet woven with a braid of yarn/string. It’s so simple I have done this on many bracelets with different colors, and different style braids.

Polka dots on polka dots

Jason Wu for Target Polka Dot blouse, Limited Vintage Dress, Vintage Belt, Jerome C. Rousseau heels
I am not the one of polka dots, or shall I say, was I one for polka dots. The design always made me feel child-like, and making me feel I have taken a trip back to second grade. Although I decided to give them a go and put dots on dots. It came out better than I had expected, and would even try it with other dotted clothing. I find that using colors that mesh well with each other tend to be better paired, than clothing colors that create to much of a jumble. The Blue dress with white dots really went well with the pink and white dots, like they were meant to be layered.

Falling into/or for Fall

Fall

I don’t know why, but I have been craving fall. This 102 degree weather in Los Angeles has got me cooped up inside, and I absolutely dreading stepping outside. So to curve my appetite (since I can’t even cook in my house with all this heat) here are some of my favorite styles I am working my wardrobe for fall. Loose blouses, boyfriend jeans and a poncho styled jacket. I have the best Burberry Vintage poncho style jacket that I can’t wait to dust off and wear in these coming months.
and… to make sure your day starts off right here is my favorite picture of the day..
